Young Buck Sessions are designed for 2nd-5th graders, focusing on teaching both fundamental and advanced lacrosse skills. These sessions aim to give younger players a solid foundation while also introducing techniques that will give them a competitive edge as they develop.

Defensive Skills Training - (Fall 2024)

 
 

Defensive skills training is geared to focus on the skills and technique to be a great defenseman. Each class will have a different focus, with an emphasis on footwork, stick-work, and take-away checks. Every few weeks we’ll bring offense and defense together to implement live drills (contact and non contact).

Overview

Join us for the ultimate 4v4 lacrosse experience this winter! This is a fast-paced, decision-making-centric game format to develop lacrosse IQ and prepare players for the spring season. Whether you’re looking to improve your speed of play or become more decisive on the field, our 4v4 series is designed to challenge and enhance your skills with high-intensity gameplay and coaching.

45 Minute Skills Training + 45 Minutes of live gameplay

  • Skills Training: Players will receive position specific training and compete small sided games

  • 4v4 games: Focus on real-game situations.

Why 4v4?

This format accelerates decision-making through small-sided, fast-paced games. Players will experience dynamic, high-energy training that mimics real-game scenarios, ensuring growth in both their physical skills and lacrosse IQ.

Throughout the session, Our Coaches will instruct players on skill development and introducing 2 and 3 man game, as well as off-ball movement, defensive positioning, and working through picks.

  • Decision-Making Under Pressure: Emphasizing speed of thought and quick, confident choices in game situations.

  • Creative Playmaking: Encouraging players to take calculated risks and make dynamic plays.

  • Mistake Recovery: Teaching players to move on from mistakes quickly and focus on the next play, building mental resilience.

Coaching

We provide high-quality training with NCAA-experienced coaches who specialize in position-specific skills. We guarantee enhanced IQ, skill development, and confidence within 4 sessions.

  • Our clinics operate with a 5:1 player-to-coach ratio. Each session balances new skill teaching and live application, ensuring rapid growth and confidence-building.

Event Details

  • Location: Evesboro Downs Field

  • Time: Boys 5:30–7:00 PM

  • Dates: [4 Weeks] - Thursdays - 11/21, 12/5, 12/12, 12/19

  • Ages: 6th | 7th-8th

Cost

  • $150 for players

  • $125 for goalies

Single Sessions: $50

Players will be grouped on separate nets by age and experience. The Coaches decide on groupings during the first day.

All players will use short sticks, even defenders.

 
    • Game Structure:
      Each session consists of 45 minutes of skill development and 45 minutes of fast-paced 4v4 games. Players will rotate through a series of four 10-minute full-field games, with brief 1-minute transitions between each.

    • Team Assignments:
      Teams will be formed after registration. Players are grouped into 4 field players and 1 goalie, ensuring balanced competition.

    • Player Responsibilities:
      Players should bring all required gear, including a stick, helmet, and appropriate pads.

    • Coaching Support:
      Coaches will provide real-time feedback during the games and skill drills, focusing on development areas like decision-making, quick adjustments, and teamwork.

    Sign-ups are individual - Teams will be formed after registration.

    Each team will have 4 field players and 1 goalie along with 1-2 substitutes.

    Deadline: First come, first served.

    Our small group setting ensures defenders receive individualized attention, focusing on game-specific skills like stick checks, slides, and recoveries.

    NCAA-Experienced Coaches:
    Our defensive coaches have NCAA experience, providing expert guidance to develop effective, confident defenders ready for any challenge.

    The Importance of Consistent Training:
    Defensive success depends on repetition and focused training, building critical habits like positioning, footwork, and communication over time.

    Limitations of Club Practices:
    Club sessions often focus on team defense and large group drills, leaving limited time for individual defenders to hone their specific skills.

Schedule & Details

Tuesdays: January 7th - February 25th

Location: Total Turf (Pitman, NJ) – Directions

Setting: Outdoor turf field with lights.

Focus: A combination of skills training and live reps, designed to replicate game scenarios and prepare players for real-game situations.

Time: 6:00 - 7:30 PM

  • Middle School | High School

    • Capped at 12 Middle School & High School Offensive players.

High School and Middle School groups will train on separate sides of the field for specialized attention.

  • In the event of inclement weather during outdoor sessions at Total Turf:

    • Indoor Backup Plan: If space is available, the session will be moved indoors to either a turf field or court.

    • Refund Policy: If indoor space is not available, we will issue a refund for that session.

    Players should come prepared for colder temperatures by wearing appropriate layers, including sweatshirts and sweatpants. Sessions will only be canceled under the following conditions:

    • Temperatures fall below 30°F or the wind chill is below 30°F.

    • Persistent rain impacts field conditions or safety.

    We’ll notify players and parents in advance if a session needs to be canceled or moved indoors due to weather.

Cost:

  • Single Sessions: $40 | Monthly Package: $140 for 4 sessions

  • Full Package: $240

Wednesdays: January 8th - February 26th

Location: Mavericks Training Facility (Moorestown) – Directions

Setting: Indoor training facility.

Focus: Skills training and live reps to build lacrosse IQ and enhance key offensive skills.

Time: 4:30 - 6:00 PM

  • Middle School | High School

    • Capped at 12 Middle School & High School Defensive players.

High School and Middle School groups will train on separate sides of the field for specialized attention.


Cost:
